Loox Picks: Arts & Music Calendar

July 15th, 2010 — 10:06am

Time to catch your breath… the World Cup‘s over, Spain in ecstasy, Germany full of hope for a better future (now that‘s something they haven‘t had for a while, eh?), England searching for said future, and Holland full of sadness. We could go on rambling about football and some nation‘s current situation, but as there‘s honestly loads of interesting (and better…) things to see and do, we decide not to. London, New York, Paris and Munich have a lot to offer this week, time warps, Cannes winners, presidents‘ grandsons and not very ladylike elderly ladies included…

LOOX Artists Contribute to Award-Winning Work

July 14th, 2010 — 8:38am

You’ve already seen the spectacular job our LOOX artists did on a recent GEKA campaign. Selina Spittler did hair and makeup for this shoot, Christian Brach was responsible for the styling and Roman Walczyna was the photographer.

With three LOOX talents involved, you can imagine how thrilled we were to hear that the agency responsible for the campaign received a ‘Best of Europe’ Award for the creative re-branding of GEKA that this photo shoot was a part of. Congratulations to the agency Schindler Parent – and congratulations to Selina Spittler, Christian Brach and Roman Walczyna for contributing to this award-winning work!

Philipp Hoffmann:
Hair+Makeup Artist, Art Director

July 7th, 2010 — 8:15pm

This series of sexy images is an amazing piece of work from LOOX talent Philipp Hoffmann. Not only because we are seriously in love with the look and mood created in this fashion shoot themed Room N° 6, but also because it proves that Philipp can do a lot more than hair+makeup. In this shoot, he also acted as art director.

And this shooting is topical in a rather unexpected way. In addition to fashion by Givenchy, Dolce&Gabbanna, Miki Milay, Versace and Dondup, one accessory showcased by the seriously sexy model – her cigarette – has been the subject of much debate here in Munich this week. On Sunday, Bavarian voters supported a proposition to ban smoking in all bars and restaurants, but regardless of health concerns, Philipp Hoffmann knows: smoking is sexy and a casual cigarette is the perfect finishing touch to this arrangedly disarranged look.

Loox Picks: Arts & Music Calendar

July 6th, 2010 — 8:15pm

Small is beautiful. Less is more. Bigger is not always better. Oh yes, don‘t we all know about it, in times when we‘re asked to boil things down a bit to what they really are. Boil them down to the maximum, that is. When did you last REALLY kiss your squeeze? When did you last REALLY savour your food? And when did you last REALLY feel, live and enjoy a show, performance, concert or possibly raindrop, sunray or, erm, world football championship final? No worries if you haven‘t done so for a while, you can start right away with great art and music experiences, even their websites are intriguing…

Loox Picks: Arts & Music Calendar

June 29th, 2010 — 8:07am

Does anyone do anything but watch football these days? Well, at least in England, the US, France, and Italy there now might be a few people inclined to other pastimes as their teams didn‘t, say, quite convince. And we‘re quite sure that. despite initial feelings of sadness for their teams‘ early homecoming, they will get rid of these feelings rather quickly when they find out there‘s a life after, beyond, and aside from the World Cup. You can dance, you can swing, you can rock‘n‘roll, you can… check this out!

My Fair Lady (in Red)

June 28th, 2010 — 6:11pm

Okay, she’s not quite Eliza Doolittle, but the model in this fashion editorial by Christian Brach and Phil Hoffmann does have an air of the flower girl about her, no?

We are in love with the combination of nude and earthy hues with the deep, rich red, topped off with fresh-as-a-dewy-rose makeup. Mental note to try this combination on self is being written as we, er, write…

Sexy Is as Sexy Does

June 26th, 2010 — 2:28pm

Stylist Tanja Stadler and photographer York Hovest are at it again – each set of fashion images they produce is sexier than the one before. This one reminds us of Brigitte Bardot – in a good way (is there a bad way to be reminded of Brigitte Bardot?)
